Join me in my studio for an afternoon of printmaking! I’ll teach you the basics of designing and carving a linocut block, and then we’ll experiment with printing them onto different papers and fabrics.
I’ll bring my stash of fabrics so we can print some patches, and if you have any fabric scraps or clothes you want to print on, do bring those along. (Smooth fabrics without too much texture work best.)
You will get to take home everything you print (paper prints, cards, fabric patches, printed clothes etc.) and your linocut block!
When: Saturday January 24th, 2-4 pm
Where: Studio 102, Percy Williams Building, Krowji, Redruth (the outside doors will be locked, so I’ll meet you downstairs at 2:00 and let everyone in)
Who is welcome: Everyone! This is a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Beginner printmakers very welcome. The building is wheelchair accessible and has gender neutral/accessible toilets :)
What to bring: Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting ink on! Bring some inspiration like sketches, Pinterest boards, photos etc. to help you design your blocks. Optional: if you have any fabrics you want to print on (scraps for patches, old t-shirts, tote bags etc.) do bring those too.
