Exploring Mawddach Estuary - lithograph print
‘Exploring Mawddach Estuary’ is an original lithograph print from a limited edition of 16. Printed on thick, soft white Somerset paper. This was made in collaboration with the talented lithographer, Scarlett Rebecca during my residency in Wales. Scarlett took care of all the technical parts of etching and printing, and I was able to focus on the imagery.
During my residency this March, I spent my days exploring the estuary and mountains, and working my beautiful studio with a view. The light and the tides were constantly changing, making the landscape seem completely different every time I looked up. I loved seeing the shapes created in the estuary at low tide, and of course I was drawn to the solitary figures exploring the beaches and estuary.
When creating the imagery for this print, I combined multiple photos and memories together to capture my favourite parts of the landscape. I wanted to capture the sense of vast open space and the changing light on the water.
Paper size: 8.5 × 10.5 inches (22.5 × 27 cm)
Image size: 5 × 7 inches (13 × 18 cm)
*This print comes unframed
